The 23^rd International Congress of Energy Retail Market (Mercado de Energía Mayorista – MEM) was held in Hilton Hotel of Cartagena de Indias (northern coast of Colombia) from November 1st to November 3rd , 2017. The National Operating Council (Consejo Nacional de Operación –CNO) and Marketing Advisory Committee (Comité Asesor de Comercialización –CAC) of Colombia jointly organized and managed the congress. The congress was an aim to gather worldwide attendees and provide opportunity of brainstorming and exchange of ideas among them.

 The CNO and CAC mutually anticipate that that the aforesaid congress could be a chance to analyze changes in pattern of industry as well as the prospect of new technology and paradigms to measure those changes , implement adoption and draw a framework to shape the future of energy retail market in Colombia.

Around 500 experts from domestic and international parties including energy regulators , manufacturers and solution providers , utilities , academicians, consultants , electrical and gas companies other relevant parties and stakeholders attended the 23^rd  MEM.

Hexing electrical company as a leading Chinese company and a global player in offering power utilization products and services dispatched Ms Xiong as a representative to participate 23^rd MEM.

The congress had five panels of discussion among experts, and several issues including following items were discussed and reviewed by experts :

-          Operational Changes(adoption to non-conventional renewable energy resources , tech technologies)

-          Advance energy metering and measurement deployment

-          Sustainable Solutions for Project Development

-          Review of Colombia energy market

-          Investment resources and financial risk management

-          Distributed generation and new role of developers
